What is HypnoMothering?

HypnoMothering is for every Mum. We all face struggles and overwhelming emotions. You are incredible and you are not alone. This class has been developed to provide you with strategies, to immediately reduce any negative emotions or overwhelm. And it will help you with tiredness and sleep deprivation too.

Why Hypnosis works

Self hypnosis is such a wonderful tool that has immediate and long term benefits. It is about using positive thoughts and suggestions to make us feel better day to day. All hypnosis is self hypnosis and is a wonderful, naturally occurring state that improves our well being. As a therapy hypnosis has an immediate positive effect on the mind.

Preparing yourself with HypnoMothering…

When we are pregnant, we rightly focus on the birth and not necessarily on our emotions following our baby’s arrival. It is absolutely recommended to prepare ourselves, mind and body, for our baby’s birth. We can increase our chances of having a positive experience and limit childbirth trauma. But it is also helpful to prepare yourself for the transition to Motherhood. It is a huge life changing event.

The common feelings of Motherhood

New Mums are especially vulnerable to feeling self critical and sometimes overwhelmed. It can look to us, on the surface, like everyone is coping amazingly well, and we wonder why we are not. What we sometimes don’t realise that all Mums go through very similar thoughts and feelings.

We are often figuring things out on our own, googling everything from why ‘won’t my baby sleep’ to ‘how to be a good parent’. Postnatal depression affects 3 in 10 women in the UK, and many cases go undiagnosed. (Mental Health and Wellbeing www.gov.uk).

As our children grow in independence and personality, we find ourselves dealing with new challenges all the time. The pre-school years are one of my favourite phases, however it can be physically and emotionally demanding, especially if you have another baby by now. We have a lot to juggle and we need to find ways to go the distance in the healthiest way possible. When we are at our best, our children will reap the benefits.

This is a hugely needed course, created in response to the needs of women who are at the start of or in the midst of their child’s 0-5 years.
